SHARE INFO: PaxPax.org is designed to inform, empower and organize air travelers.

Pax can now get accurate, up-to-date articles on safe, healthy flying. Coming soon: we will offer a database where pax can input their airline health and safety experiences and forums where pax can network (or simply read) about a variety of flying conditions.

We are working on funding for the database now. We expect this organized effort will effect positive changes for all air travelers worldwide.

Future articles: We will continue to bring your concerns and frustrations to light and our range will be expanded as more pax use our database.

FLYING IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART

The airlines' common denial of the risks exacerbated by their equipment and practices is a sore point of contention for passengers who become ill. For those with serious medical conditions, flying can have deadly consequences.

While it is known that deaths occur during flight, there is no data on the exact numbers. The airlines aren't telling and the FAA relies entirely on the information form the airlines. In addition, some passengers who become ill on board, die after landing.

Below are some concerns written to Diana. These pax can all be helped through networking with other pax. For the moment, Diana has written some articles on these subjects

EAR PROBLEMS WHEN FLYING

"I would like to know what to do about ear pain while the plane is taking off and landing. I will be traveling to Italy next month and I am afraid it can do damage to me ears. I have a paralyzed vocal chord and since then my sinuses and ears have been a problem." 3 articles on ear problems

WHAT'S GOING ON ON AIR JAMAICA?

"Could it be spraying the passengers with pesticides? What's going on? Is the spray done before or after landing? Can passengers get exemptions? Please help! The first five days of my recent holiday in Jamaica were ruined due to a severe attack of hay fever that started on the outward flight with Air Jamaica. I returned home on Wednesday and am once again afflicted with a severe attack of hay fever that shows no sign of abating despite taking my normal medication. What does Air Jamaica spray in their planes and how do I avoid such misery next time I travel to Jamaica?" 3 articles on pesticides

ASTHMA

"I suffer from asthma and chemical sensitivities in that I am a retired chemist on disability because of my lungs. That was my job for years. My job involved monitoring food supplies for the public, but I had to use chemicals to do the tests. If I breath in poison, I won't be able to breath because of it. My asthma and allergies are aggravated. I want to travel to the Caribbean. I have turned away from trips to Jamaica because of the spraying. Do the U.S. Virgin Islands or Aruba require spraying. What Caribbean countries will I be safe from spraying at this current time??? Thank you very much for your help."

FOOD POISONING ON AMERICAN AIRLINES?

"My daughters and I got food poisoning on a recent American Airlines flight to Hawaii. My husband didn't eat the same meal and he was fine. We want to connect with other passengers from that flight."

HOW MUCH RADIATION BETWEEN NY & MIDDLE EAST?

"I took a course about radiation and was told that in a flight you only receive UV radiation that is hot but not ionizing. While X-Ray radiation is ionizing and you have to be under supervision." 2 articles on radiation
